What is the concern of incorporating?
Principals

• Collecting funds seperately or as an unincorporated association
• Income gained via interest might not be of benefit
• Networking with sci-fi groups to learn financial benefits
• Small venues like Chattacon are perfect

What about for a new organizer

• What role does credit history/credit score play into this
• If bad, find someone else or partner with someone else

If you want to incorporate

• Find someone in the group to review the paperwork
• Preferably an attorney

Why Incorporate

• Sponsorships will require it

Dodging taxes

• Taking profits from an event/conference after expenses and throwing it to a charity
• Huge tax exemptions
